The 2024 Light up the Arts sale starts on Friday, November 29th in conjunctio with Summerland's Light up Festival.

Thousands of people visit our beautiful community to take in the decorations, the shops and businesses, the music and of course the fireworks!

Artists and Artisans are invited to submit original handmade gift items such as paintings, pottery, glass art, jewelry, fibre art, books, approved food items, soaps and other items. Join us this year!

We're asking our wonderfully talented community to donate handmade Christmas ornaments for this year. Every day of the sale, one lucky shopper will have their name drawn for an ornament created by one of our local artists. This daily draw is a popular event during Light up the Arts.

Please drop off your creations at the Arts Centre, 9525 Wharton St. We're open Tuesday to Friday from 10 am - 4 pm.

We're excited to present Rollin' Coal at a very special Friday Night Live concert fundraiser on Friday, December 6th at 7:00 pm. 100% of funds raised will go right back into our programming.

This talented trio will have you singing along with popular songs from the 50s to the 80s with a few holiday tunes too!

Enjoy a glass of wine or a tall cool beer and enjoy listening to live music at the Ryga Arts Centre.

Tickets are $25. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Awesome Arts is a program dedicated to providing Fine Arts opportunities for adults with diverse abilities.

All workshops and courses are led by professional artists with expertise in painting, fibre arts, mixed media and more.

Explore your creativity. Make new friends. Have fun at Awesome Arts!

Our 2025 Awesome Arts dates and times are as follows:

January 16th - 12:30 - 2 pm February 6th 1 - 2:30 pm February 20th - 12:30 - 2 pm March 6th - 1 - 2:30 pm March 20th - 12:30 - 2 pm

Class fee is $5.00 and includes all supplies.

Fall is upon us and so is planning for the 2024 Light Up the Arts Show and Sale at the Arts Centre. We are looking for volunteers to help with setting up the gallery space, recording and displaying inventory and decorating outside.

Deanna Dunham of Little Joys Studio will be offering Santa Pop-Up Sessions at the Art Gallery this November 29th.

Photos will take place from 5:30 - 8:30 pm, so bring the kids for a visit AND a photo with Santa! Images are $20.

While you're waiting, you can purchase some delicious pies and other pastries from the kitchen of Chef Andy Lyon. The chef's lovely wife Lorraine will be on hand from 5:30 - 8:30 pm.
